The latest installment of Football Manager is not only bigger, better and much more realistic than ever... it also includes, for the first time, new ways to enjoy the world's favorite football management video game. In addition to offering a wide range of improvements and updates compared to its predecessors, the next edition incorporates a series of radical changes and new game modes that will revolutionize the way in which some enjoy the game. One of the most notable additions will be the debut of the new Classic mode… or “FMC” as it is known within SportsInteractive. FMC offers, for the first time in the already long and successful history of Football Manager, a faster and more direct alternative to players. This mode simplifies the way users manage their team and allows them to focus on what matters most to take their team to the top. In addition to a rationalization of the manager's functions – to the point where a season can be played between 8 and 10 hours – FMC also offers users two different ways to play; They can embark on an open race or prove their mettle in the new Challenge Mode. In Challenge mode the player faces a particular scenario designed to test his skills as a manager over a certain period of time – usually half a season. The challenge replicates a series of real-world circumstances... is it possible to achieve success with a team made up entirely of young people?, for example, or can a team that is at the bottom of the table at Christmas save itself from relegation to the end of the campaign? Challenge mode was first introduced to the franchise in Football Manager Handheld 2012 (for iPhone and Android) and due to its popularity it was incorporated into the PC and Mac versions. FM13 will have five challenges already included, and throughout the year there will be more available based on demand from players around the world. Alongside the Challenge mode, FMC also incorporates a number of “unlockable” features which, if used, make the game easier to handle – managers can eliminate the need to process work permits, for example, or add a few million to your transfer budget. Some of these unlockable items can be obtained by reaching certain levels in the game, and all of them will also be available for purchase if the player chooses to do so.
